Hello Friends and Family, This is Meranda McKaskle, James McKaskle’s daughter. On January 16th, while in the hospital, my father passed away from pneumonia brought on by Covid. His sudden passing has taken a huge toll on our family as we grieve for our loss and take the time to settle his personal and business affairs. As some of you may know, my father ran North Valley Martial Arts school where he taught self-defense to adults and children, which was one of his biggest passion in life. With his recent passing, we have found out we are sadly unable to continue his legacy and remain open. As part of this, we were notified that we had until the end of this month to get all that belonged to him out of the dojo. Between moving his stuff out, planning a memorial in California for his close family members, a celebration of life in Phoenix for his friends and the dojo family, and taking time to grieve, we have been struggling financially. My brother and I would like to attend the memorial in California which will be an expensive trip where our employers don’t offer paid time off during this difficult time. So we have decided to ask for help so our family can stay afloat during this difficult period of time. The money we are asking for will go towards important bills for the family and final expenses for my father. The McKaskle family thanks everyone for what they have currently done for us and we appreciate any donations we may get at this time. Thank you so much.

I still have trouble believing Master James is really gone. Perhaps that's because his spirit lives on, in each of us, his students.
