He was a wonderful father, husband, pilot, brother, son, friend and most importantly, an exceptional human being. There is a donation link and information for a cause close to his heart at the end of this. Please share with us your memories, stories and tributes of Hamid on this page. With your consent, we will collect these tributes and stories for a private book his daughters will be publishing in his honour. Please email his daughters directly with any private memories or tributes you would want to be included. Hamid fell upon the misfortune of cancer, like many millions around the world do. Hamid's first and true love was always his home country of Iran. While he lived through his cancer with the privilege of unlimited access to medicine and medical resources in Canada, he knew his fellow countrymen in Iran did not always benefit from this same privilege. This is why we ask all those who would send flowers or gifts to his family, to instead make a donation to this page. His family will arrange for the money to be sent to the Arian Association for the Protection of Cancer Patients in Amol, Mazandaran, to fund cancer treatments and facilities in honour of Hamid's memory. While we are reeling from the loss of Hamid so suddenly and so soon, we take comfort in the memories and legacies he left behind. Help us keep his memory alive with your tributes and your donations. Arian Association for the Protection of Cancer Patients was created by the Masghati family, upon the loss of young Arian Masghati to cancer in 2011. Arian travelled to Tehran for his cancer treatments, and was dismayed to know his community in Amol had no cancer clinic or medical resources. His father set up this association and bought an old closed hospital to turn into a cancer clinic and community facility to help underprivileged patients within the Amol area.
