OBITUARY
Gyasi Hashim Matsimela Brathwaite, 18 of Norfolk, VA met his untimely death November 22, 2021. He will be remembered as a man of very few words, one not easily angered, serene spirit, very charming, wise beyond his years, handsome and respectful. He leaves his footprint on many hearts as a very loving and giving person. In youth Gyasi participated in football, t-ball and he was a phenomenal boxer. He will be remembered as a man of very few words, one not easily angered, serene spirit, very charming, wise beyond his years, handsome and respectful. He leaves his footprint on many hearts as a very loving and giving person. In youth Gyasi participated in football, t-ball and he was a phenomenal boxer. His favorite hobbies included exploring new places, video games and watching anime cartoons. He lived and was formally educated in Norfolk, VA; Port of Spain, Trinidad; Charlotte, NC and Brooklyn, NY. Most recently Gyasi attended Maury High School where he earned the high school equivalency diploma in general studies; he began earn credentials to work and travel with MSC. Gyasi is predeceased by his great grandmother Rose Marie Bridgers. He is survived by his loving parents Andy Brathwaite(Aleah) & Tomeka Lyles(Chase), one brother Omari Brathwaite, one Sister Cousin Jahzara Lyles-Christia, two sisters Asima Brathwaite and Rose Christina and a host of family and friends.
