Gregory was born and raised in Washington, DC, to Jonas S. and Betty Jo Bowman. He attended DC public schools and graduated from McKinley Tech. He was a dedicated and faithful employee of the U.S. Postal Service, and ended his employment at Midas Automotive with 30 years of service. Gregory transitioned at Georgetown University Hospital on Saturday, March 25th, 2023 at the age of 67.
In the spring of 1982, he met his future wife Lenora Bowman (Wilson), they married September 21, 1985. In addition to being a dedicated husband and father, Gregory loved cars, love is an understatement. His favorite car was a 1971 Ford Mustang (Boss 351). In addition, he would spend much of his spare time drawing, reading, and vacationing with his family.
He accepted the Lord as his personal savior at Holy Trinity Worship Center. He loved serving on the usher board and fellowshipping with the men of Holy Trinity.
Gregory is preceded in death by his father Jonas Sylvester Bowman.
Gregory’s legacy will forever be remembered by his loving wife Lenora, his caring mother Betty Jo Bowman; three daughters Lanine Valdez (Alex), Nicole Bowman Abdul-Ali, Michele Woods (Daniel); seven grandchildren, Mariah, Mason, Major, Maxwell, Lenexio, Neilex, and Ava; sister Gwendolyn Green; Aunt Doris Easton (James), and Uncle Walter Wilson.
