Glenn Emerson Dunville, 71, passed away on February 14, 2022.  Born March 22, 1950, in Richmond, VA to Dorman Heidecker and Virginia Holden Dunville, Glenn was the second of four children and was the only boy.  From Richmond, the Dunville family moved to Kentucky in 1953, then moved again and settled in Roanoke, Virginia in 1961.  He graduated from Andrew Lewis High School in 1968 and by that point had made countless lifelong friends.  It was in high school that he also met Tina Cole, whom he married in 1973.  Glenn and Tina had two children who, along with a head full of gray hair, many trials and tribulations, also brought him immeasurable pride and joy.  They lived in Roanoke and Richmond, and moved to Columbia, MO where they lived for seven years before returning to Roanoke.  They made their final home in Waynesboro.

Glenn loved to work and loved every job he had.  He was a valuable asset--from golf caddy to business owner, construction and everything in between.  After retirement, Glenn volunteered with the Virginia Department of Health.  They quickly realized what an asset he was and hired him.  He enjoyed his responsibilities and they appreciated all of his contributions.

Glenn is survived by his loving and beloved wife, Tina, their two children Laura Wilson (Jon) and Jochen Dunville (Leslie); six beautiful and adoring grandchildren Mary Ella, Calvin & Sadie Wilson, Reece, Jack & Gillian Dunville; two sisters, Lila Belongia and Holly Moore; his mother-in-law Mary Cole and two brothers-in-law Mike Cole and Tim Cole; 10 nieces and nephews and their children; various other extended family; and Sterling Kelley, who adopted Glenn, Tina and their kids when they lived in Missouri.  Glenn is also survived by childhood friend of 60 years, Scott Carroll, who was his brother in every sense of the word.  Glenn was an honorary member of the Skandalakis-Carroll family and embraced all things Greek, even having his grandchildren call him Papu.

Glenn was the life of the party, always ready with a funny story and quick wit.  He loved a gathering of any kind and felt the bigger the gathering the better, hosting ever larger crowds for Thanksgiving each year.  Glenn was always up for a road trip, no matter how far or how long it would take to get there.  He was famous for surprising loved ones by arriving hours earlier than they were expecting.  Among the many activities he enjoyed as a kid and into adulthood were Formula Vee racing, golf, handball, waterskiing, tennis, playing pool and ping-pong.  Most of all, Glenn loved being with family and friends.  We will hold dear the many memories from family beach and lake vacations, holiday gatherings and other special times with Glenn.  He will forever be in our hearts.
