She loved to travel, checking out plays and operas. She particularly loved the Portland Opera House and felt it allowed everyone and anyone to come. She was not afraid of a challenge and firmly believed honesty was the best policy from telling you uf she disliked your outfit or just a blunt truth. She couldn't keep a secret on her life. She loved to play cards with her friends and a good deink. She enjoyed thrifting and telling those that loved her outfit it was from value village. She use to sing to her grandkids to sleep, take them to the wave pools and any natural history museum she could find and later on some of her great grandkids. She loved to send a random package full of the most interesting things and no explanation these "care packages" were aways a joy to us even if it left us with more questions than answers. She truly made the world a better place through everyone she helped. We will post about a celebration of life party in the Salem at a later date and look forward to reading your memories and thoughts and prayers.

She did Language Arts and I did Math and Science. She was the perfect mentor to me on how to navigate the political, financial, and general administrative hurdles I encountered as the new kid on the block. Her humor, insightfulness, and genuine care and laser-focus on "how is this decision going to affect the students?" was her gift to me. My best to the family. Peace. less

I got to be her grandson, Mark's, first grade teacher at Lamb Elementary. Gay was an involved and supportive Grandma! I appreciated her encouragement, involvement and creativity. She even made me the coolest "teacher apron" at the end of the year. : )
I loved being Mark's teacher and gained a new respect for the value of a grandparent in a child's life.
God bless Gay's family at this tough time. less
I always loved how you and Theron would take us on tours of the city!!! Or laugh with us or bother me during a movie to talk about my hair. Your sense of humor!!!
