Frederick was survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Cecile Frey; his loving twin sons Ethan (Jennifer) and Justin Frey; his devoted step son Brad Remick; his dear step daughter Lauren Martone (Jon); his cherished grandchildren Max, Macy, Mabel, Hayden, Griffin, Sara and Gavin; also his adoring sister Frances Froelich. Predeceased by his dear sister Janet Frey.  
Fred loved his family and particularly children. Kindness marked Fred and he would give someone the shirt off his back. He was a Rhode Scholar graduating from Oxford University. He later continued his education at Princeton University and received his Doctorate. He spent 15 years as a professor at MIT then 20 years at U of Penn.  Frederick loved sports! He was an amazing athlete. Played in the baseball minors and was an avid tennis player.
He loved his caring and devoted wife, Ceil, and he had a special relationship with his twin boys Justin and Ethan. There was no shortage of laughter, hugs and commitment he shared with his family.
