It is with much sadness, but also joy, that we share her passing into Jesus' arms last night, 12/29/2021 in Memphis, TN with her daughter Susan and son-in-law William Bellamy. She passed quickly and with loved ones, which was her prayer.
Frances was born on 6/29/1925 in Charleston, WV. She was a loyal, devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, adoptive mother, mother in law, grandma, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend to all who knew her.
She was the most sensitive and kind lady, who was actually, very shy until her later senior years. Her family meant the world to her, family was all that mattered to her and each family member was loved and cherished deeply and were her greatest joy. She was a very hard worker, started working at a young age in her birth state of West Virginia. She and her older sister Marie bravely left the coal mining, railroad town they were born in and adventured off to new exciting places together. I believe she was just 18 when she first moved with her sister.
Frances met her true love, her soul mate, Elmer Jesse Fisher aka Jay, while working as a civilian for the United States Air Force in an office near "Jay" in the Pentagon, Washington DC. She says that he was too shy to ask her on a date and had a friend do it. She told that friend she would only accept if Jay asked himself! It's a good thing he summoned up the courage, as that was the beginning of their romance. The lovebirds married in June 21, 1947 and had many years of a truly happy marriage. They celebrated over fifty years of marriage before Jay passed on 11/01/2007.
Together, Fran & Jay are survived by three biological children, Ronald George Fisher, Alan Lee Fisher, Susan Marie Fisher Bellamy and adopted daughter, Stephanie Marie Fisher Snyder. Her grandchildren are John Alan Fisher, William Samuel Bellamy, Robyn Ashley Fisher and Dalton Jay Snyder. Her great grandchildren are Madison Bellamy and Alex Bellamy.
Her celebration(s) of life will be scheduled for a later date in 2022, which we will share by posting here and on our Facebook pages once we have that information. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask for any donations be made to the family. Please share your memories and any photos of Frances (and Jay!) with us here.
