A Mother’s love is something that no one can explain, Eunice Olufunmilayo Olufemi’s love was of deep devotion, sacrifice and pain. Your love was endless and unselfish and enduring what may come.
A virtuous woman of God, you held the family together and raised us under difficult circumstances, you brought us up in the way of the Lord. As young as six years, you taught us to fast and pray, trusting God in all things. When our Dad (Your Husband) passed on you fend for the family, ensured our education Standard was not compromised, brought us up with traditional values and skills to make us outstanding amongst our peers. You taught us the true value of friendship. You made us to know that life is not a sprint but a marathon, so don’t let our fortitude lapse, but arise and keep on going.
Mummy General (Iya Gbogbo) as you were fondly called was a proud and dignified woman who had a passion for life. She had a wonderful sense of humour which endeared her to everyone she came in contact with, took all her sons and daughter in-laws as a her biological Children and it is a great testament to her nature that she formed so many long-lasting friendships over the years. You were warm, compassionate and vibrant, always moved out of your way to help others no matter what. You were a ready shoulder to lean on, a strong support to the feeble, a bread winner to the Widow indeed and a lover of Orphans. You were a help to Gods Servants, a burden bearer to the weak and a light in the world of gross darkness. You Proved you don’t need to pursue some great calling beyond loving the people around you to make a sizeable impact.
There's a big hole in our heart now that you're gone. We fasted, prayed and wept for you to come back but it pleases the Lord to take you home, to be with him in Paradise. The hole in our heart will always be there, not even time can heal it. lossing you now just doesn't seem fair. Your great achievements build a monument which shall endure until the sun grows cold. Let’s carry on her legacy by making people around us especially the needy feel special – and by making friends wherever we go.
Mom! Goodbye and REST IN PEACE. Watch over us so we can feel your presence daily.
