Sadly, we lost Eric William Booker in mid-July, 2022, at age 56. He is survived by his daughter Kalin Booker, son Brian Booker, brothers Keith, Michael, Adam and James Booker, parents Bill and Susan Booker, niece Ashley, grand-niece Zephyr, lifelong friend Chris Goodale and his family, the Keepers family, among numerous others.
Eric recently grieved the death of his mother (April, 2022) Ronette Sweetland Warren.
Eric was born in Anaheim and grew up in Orange County. He and his brother Keith were in Boy Scouts together which included monthly camping trips, fostering his lifelong love for the outdoors.
Eric graduated from Claremont High School in 1983, was first chair trumpet player with the CHS band and on dive team…until he realized he had to wear Speedos. He was a favorite of the drama students and was often recruited to participate in various roles in comedy skits and plays.
He joined the Army after high school and was stationed at Fort Carson, CO for three years, which included a trip to Germany. His favorite memory was sharing pastries with local children, making them laugh at his attempts to speak German.
Eric worked at Todd Memorial Chapel from 1988 to 1993. During this time, Eric tried his hand at becoming a stuntman, but when kids came along in 1993 and 1996, he found his true calling as a stay-at-home dad. From 2005 to 2022, Eric worked at Target. He made friends easily there, was loved, and will be missed by many.
If Eric was not playing pinball, watching horror movies, hanging with friends, hiking, climbing, skiing, cliff diving, etc., he was with his kids. Kalin and Brian will miss having adventures with dad, which included camping, Disneyland, and going to the movies together.
Eric was more than a dad, he was their friend and their biggest fan.
