I had just seen a "classic" Citreon rising from the dust as I trudged on my way to a gig and recalled a Professor at the University of Ibadan who had the same exact sort of car. I remembered him from his tennis playing and, I seemed to remember... moreI had just seen a "classic" Citreon rising from the dust as I trudged on my way to a gig and recalled a Professor at the University of Ibadan who had the same exact sort of car. I remembered him from his tennis playing and, I seemed to remember his wife was a world-class pianist from whom I learned--by spying when she wadn't looking--the warm chords she played when teaching us songs of victory: "We Want To Sing". I remember her name, Mrs Inanga, and did a search and found, to my surprise, that Professor Lazarus had left us--probably to rise, in the world to come, in the same way his amusing yet effective tennis serve gave notice to unwitting opponents. I remember Professor Inanga well. Given the prescience of his name, to suggest that he rests is to not believe in the resurrection of the saints. Till again we meet, comrade... less
