Elizabeth Lawrence was a school teacher who was lynched for scolding a group of white students in 1933. A mob went to her home seized her and burned her house down that night. They then publically lynched her. When her son wanted to avenge his mothers death the same mob went after him, forcing him to flee to Boston, Massachusetts
