We help people respond effectively to injustice in the world around us. As a national online force driven by more than 1.4 million members, we move decision-makers in corporations and government to create a more human and less hostile world for Black people in America.
Our campaigns and initiatives win changes that matter. By designing strategies powerful enough to fight racism and injustice—in politics and culture, in the workplace and the economy, in criminal justice and community life, and wherever they exist—we are changing both the written and unwritten rules of society. We mobilize our members to end practices and systems that unfairly hold Black people back, and champion solutions that move us all forward. less

He was able to celebrate his birthday and say goodbye to much of his family. He will be dearly missed by his 3 daughters: Yael, Nomi, and Sylvia; his grandchildren: Lior, Shahar, Dani, Flor, Sivan, Meital, and Noha; his many great grandchildren, and his loving and devoted best friend, Adele Pascar.
Elias was loving, sweet, cheerful, funny, smart, a devoted family man and a great story teller. He loved a good coffee, a good steak, and always looking his best (which he always did). Above all, he loved to gather with his family.
Elias was born in Elisa, in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina. At the age of 13, he went on his own to Santa Fe for high school. He was always very proud and passionate about the Escuela Industrial. He then studied in the Universidad del Litoral, where he received a civil engineering degree.
He met Flora Perman when they were kids at a family gathering. His grandmother had previously promised Elias to Flora, upon meeting her when she was 3. At their first meeting, he threw her a ball and winked at her. It was love at first sight and they married at the age of 20 and 21, and had 3 daughters.
When their eldest daughter Sylvia moved to Israel, they decided to make “alyiah” and in 1971 the whole family moved as well. I’m 1984, Elias mourned the loss of his wife Flora.
Elias worked for many years as a civil engineer/architect. He built the iconic Monster playground in Jerusalem.
When Elias was 79, he went to the USA for a family visit and found new love with Adele Pascar. He decided to move to Florida to be with her. With this newfound love, his health rapidly improved and they lived happily together for the next decade. They shared a Jewish Argentine heritage and a devotion to family. Adele was an ever present and positive force in Elias’ life and was with him everyday till the end.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to one of his favorite charities, Fundación Teleton (see the donate button). Their mission is to bring comprehensive and compassionate rehabilitative services to children with disabilities and their families.
A funeral service will be held in Israel, along with several shiva houses there. In addition, there will be a shloshim (30 day) gathering in Brooklyn, NY. Please check back as we add events and RSVP.
