OBITUARY
Whatever I write will never do Eleanor justice.Eleanor was such a loving wife and mother. She kept me on the right path. She fought through so many struggles in her life and overcame them always with a smile on her face and a positive attitude. Eleanor was my rock and my inspiration. If I become half the dad that she was a mother I will do OK. An angel has gained her wings.

Eleanor preassessed me in the city hospital in January 2020 she was so kind and caring offering me so much reassurance. Nothing was too much bother for her, she went above and beyond her job for me. I will be eternally grateful to her. My thoughts are with her husband, daughter and family. From Margaret Vance." less
El and l met on her trips to Ethiopia with a Stand By Me medical team. She was great fun and mischievous. She also was a great nurse, and very loving to the children we were working with. I knew her only a little, but love her a lot. Helen Yohanis

When all the other girls in the estate were still in their pjs on a Saturday morning, you used to call for me before 9am so we could walk into Randalstown to spend our pocket money. These were some of the happiest days of my life. And even now when I wake up on a morning like that, I feel the need to get up and go into town before the rest of the world wakes. Eleanor and I loved buying beauty products in the chemist and then lots of treats. Fran had a microwave in the garage, so we would buy chocolate, wafers and marshmallows and make the best ‘s’mores’ ever! Eleanor had a beautiful playhouse in her garden, where we spent so many days playing Barbies, doctors, school and house. One of my funniest memories, and most shocking, as I would 100% kill my daughter for this, was when Eleanor asked me to cut her hair. We were maybe 10 or 11. I can’t remember, but I just got the kitchen scissors from my house and whacked it all off into a bob. Haha I thought I was a hairdresser! Eleanor hated her hair as a child, because it was so thick and curly and she always struggled to brush out the knots. Well, looking back, I can only imagine the storm that went down in El’s house when she got home! I just remember Fran booking her into Blonde’s for a fix up job! Haha Sorry Fran! Eleanor always knew her own mind and had such strength of character from an early age. I can see this trait in Penny already and it makes me smile. Kris, Eleanor always kept you right and you can guarantee that Penny will step into that role before long. I am forever grateful for my friendship with El xxxx less

She was the most genuine, kindest, compassionate, creative and funniest friend ever. From working together in pre-assessment a true friendship blossomed which I will treasure forever. She always lit up the office with her infectious smile, witty banter and always just said it as it was. Even though we may have taken a while to reply to each other’s messages when we did it was like time had stood still and we would be catching up over a humongous slice of cake or her most amazing cupcakes!!! I will value our friendship and know she will be watching over her beloved daughter Penny and Kris whom she absolutely loved. Rest in peace xxxx less

It still has pride of place in my house and makes me smile on the tough days all these years later! This was the type of person your mum was- thoughtful, caring, generous and someone that made an impact no matter how much or how little you seen them. I will never forget our days working in the mini market eating chocolate bars, her hatred of banana’s or the laughs we shared over her dry wit! She had the most infectious smile and the biggest heart. I was truly blessed to know her. Rest peacefully Eleanor. You were a one in a million lifetimes. Xxxxxx less

I first met your lovely mummy at a birthday party. I remember instantly liking her because she was funny and so easy to chat to. She was also an extremely kind and thoughtful person, from offering to help me source formula which had been panic-bought by everyone, to making up a folder of resources to help get through home-learning.
Your mummy was so creative and was always sourcing lots of lovely activities to do with you to help you learn. She was also really good fun! I know Will was always delighted when “Penny’s mummy” was accompanying the class on a trip and I’m sure he wasn’t the only one. She was such a special person and it was obvious to everyone that you meant the world to her. less

In the last 14years I have had the pleasure of knowing you. I am so blessed to call you my friend. I’m so glad we met in our 3rd year of nursing placement, we both seemed to be having a rough day! This then led to all day shopping sprees, lunches, enjoying our days off together all before babies!
Thank you for being by my side when I got married, my bridesmaid, best friend and for being the wonderful person you are. I loved watching you become an amazing mum to Penny and love that our girls have grown up together over the last 3/4 years. You will be missed by everyone who ever met you, u made everyone laugh and smile.
