OBITUARY

Eileen celebrated 95 years of life in a style all her own and known to many who loved her as the Queen Mother and Momma Bare. Born Margaret Eileen Carpenter in Maryland in 1927 was 1 of 10 children to James & Sadie Mae Carpenter of which she was the last remaining sibling. Born Margaret Eileen Carpenter in Maryland in 1927 was 1 of 10 children to James & Sadie Mae Carpenter of which she was the last remaining sibling.

Eileen had a very colorful and adventurous life, beginning with growing up on a large tobacco & cotton farm with her siblings & cousins. She was an accomplished athlete who loved just about any sport. Eileen was quite the bookworm and planned to become an English Teacher but was recruited by the FBI while still in Indian Head High school. She went on to complete two separate stints in the FBI as an evidence specialist working directly under J. Edgar Hoover in Washington, DC, and later returning to the FBI after the birth of her daughter, becoming a fingerprint specialist in Philadelphia. Upon retiring the second time, she went on to operate a laundry mat, run a dentist office, was in the accounting department & later the safety department of a major concrete materials company, and a nanny to children she adopted as her grandchildren as well as her own. She loved every moment.

She spent a lot of time traveling, especially with her daughter and granddaughter in her later years seeing many places on her bucket list in addition to theatre productions, ballets, operas, concerts and ballgames. She loved her family dearly but she also enjoyed life and living it to it's fullest. She often said "there will be plenty of time to rest in the grave so I am going to stay moving until I can't." Although age & Alzheimer’s slowed her down some in the past few years, it never took the spark of this quick-witted redhead.

Eileen leaves behind her children, sons Mike & Denny, and daughter Trish, grandchildren Randy, Sarah, Mark & Orion, and numerous nieces & nephews and extended family. Eileen also leaves behind many friends & athletes who knew and grew to love her, her antics & her stories.

We all cherish our time and love from her in our own lives and know there is a huge party in Heaven going on now that she has finally arrived. Enjoy your Heavenly Reunions but all of us you left behind are looking forward to the day we can enjoy being with you once again.

A Memorial Service will occur at a yet to be determined date graveside in Indiana this Fall as we plant a tree with her ashes next to her last husband Darwin B. Bare at Fairview Cementary. If you would like details once they are solidified please contact her daughter Trish.

In lieu of Flowers we have set up a fundraiser to assist the family with expenses if you so choose to donate.
