Ed was born in Chicago IL July 23rd 1938 to Mary Katherine Roth (Keneally) and Edward Matthew Roth Sr. Ed was in poor health as a child. He contracted rheumatic fever at young age and was chronically ill early in his life. Because of this, he could not attend school for some years and learned to read at home keeping his mind occupied with the encyclopedia while convalescing. He recalled being told he wouldn’t live, but he had a strong will and proved them wrong. After graduating high school, he went on to try multiple business ventures including carpentry. He was a smart man and a woodworker who created beautiful and imaginative things with his hands. He loved Sci-Fi, photography, politics and of course his wife and kids. Married twice, he had 6 children, 3 with Anna and 3 with Ginny whom he married in 1970. He created a legacy in his children and all the people he touched over his long lifetime. He follows his wife Ginny Lou Hanes and his parents into eternity and the mercy of Jesus Christ. He leaves behind his children Edward (Maria) Foster, Cindy (Carlos) Zimmermann, Michael (Chris) Foster, Ginger Roth, Ericka (Eugene) Eyas and Kevin Roth. He also has 13 grandchildren including Benjamin, Michael, Erin, James, Billy, John, Josh, Lisa, Sam, Sheah, Edward Ian, Xander and Tessa. Additionally, he is survived by 2 brothers Richard (Pamela) Roth and James Roth, as well as in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many cousins. Ed will be remembered and he will be missed. Interment will be at Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Darien IL beside his wife Ginny where a graveside service will be held with family in attendance.
