Dr VSM Sundaram passed away, peacefully at 1:20 pm today, 16th June, 2019 at age 86.
His eldest daughter Jayasree was by his side, holding his hands and gave him Ganga Jal" (sacred water) . Soon thereafter, he passed on.

 

Jayasree has been diligently serving her parents and taking care of them very, very well. Jayasree is bold and courageous and is also cheering her mother. She has taken charge of all steps that needs to be done. 

 

We agreed that it would be a celebratory mood and there is no place in that house for grief. This, obviously as Dr Sundaram is no ordinary doctor. He sacrificed his entire life to serve the local community and people for over sixty years. Always quick-witted, joyful state of mind and with a terrific sense of humor, he would hate if his dear ones  shed tears.

 

Yes, Dr Sundaram will be missed by all in the family and thousands of his patients from over 100 square mile radius of Vadakkencherry in Palghat District, Kerala, India. Even in his last few months of life, patients from far away places used to wait to meet him and derive solace from his healing touch. Most were very poor and in all his decades of medical practice, he charged no fees. Perhaps, the only doctor in these wretched times who did not have a billing department! 

Dr. V.S.M.Sundaram uncommon man with a unique, genuine passion to serve humanity will be remembered, for ever and ever !
