Dr. Olufemi Ojo Ifelola has passed on to glory. A rare gem in the eyes of many and a foundation for many successes. In his lifetime, he affected a lot of people in numerous ways and the result of his impact will last for a very long time.
Born into the Ojumu family of Erijiyan Ekiti on the 13th of May, 1960. His parents where Late Pa Joel Awolegan Ifelola and Late Madam Felicia Olomi Ifelola. He attended St Paul's Anglican Primary School, Odo-Ado, Ado-Ekiti in 1969 and completed his secondary school at Christ School, Ado Ekiti in 1978. He completed his degree in M.B.B.S at the University of Calabar in 1985 becoming a Medical Doctor.
As a boy, he was a bright young chap who through determination and the help of his elder brother: Late Pa Samuel Olubunmi Ifelola persevered his way through school to becoming a Medical Doctor. He was always top of his class and a good footballer in his days which earned him the nickname "ofege" among his peers. He was an 'Ebenezer Obey" music lover.
With hard work, discipline and commitment; he put in his all into his job and service to humanity. He worked at State Specialist Hospital, Akure in 1985 - 1987, State Specialist Hospital, Ado Ekiti in 1987-1990, Ondo State University Health Centre in 1990-1994, Eko Hospital, Lagos in 1995 -1996, Maryland Medical Center in 1997- 2007 after which he established his private hospital THE VINE MEDICAL CENTRE where he co-manages with his dear wife Rev. (Mrs) Onaolapo Ifelola till his painful departure. He belonged many medical and non-medical associations home and abroad but an active member of AGPMPN, Lagos state chapter.
Dr. Olufemi Ojo Ifelola was a family man to the core, sacrificing personal comfort most times, for the growth of his family. He contributed immensely to the education of his siblings and others around him. He was a great adviser and solution provider. He was a man of integrity who lived an exemplary lifestyle for all those around him to watch and follow.
In 1993, He wedded his darling Rev. (Mrs) Onaolapo Ifelola, taking their vows of Holy Matrimony at Christ School Anglican Church. He is survived by Oluwadunsin and Gbenga Olaniyi , Oluwademilade Ifelola and Oluwadarasimi Ifelola; his grandchild Omoyeni Christianah Olaniyi and many other wonderful children.
To his Children, He was a Loving Father, a Friend, a confidant, a provider, an adviser, an exemplary leader and a counsellor. To his wife, he was a friend like no other and confidant. He always showed love and was the peacemaker of the family. He was her supporter and they were both very fond of one another.
In 1989, he gave his life to Christ through his friend Dr. Gboyega Akenroye. He died as a Christian, a believer and a true lover of Christ.
Our beloved Dr. Olufemi Ojo Ifelola, you were a great husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend to many, before death plucked you from our midst. Even though we are saddened by losing you, we take solace in the Word of God which says:
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even if he dies” – John 11:25
And we believe that you are living and resting at the bosom of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
