We created a GatheringUs memorial to celebrate the life of David H. Langsett. As we plan gatherings, we will share information here.
On December 8, 2019, the world got a little quieter with the loss of David Harold Langsett, age 68. By his side was his loving wife and best friend, Sangita Langsett.
David was born on February 2, 1951, in California. He spent his youth causing chaos with brothers Chris, Brian, Greg, and Kevin. Even from a young age, he was known for his boisterous humor and ability to turn every stranger into his best friend. As one would imagine, this led him on countless adventures which would one day become larger than life stories told at parties and family gatherings.
He was a contractor by trade and was held in high esteem by his peers. He truly loved his job and put his whole heart and soul into each client. Being handy and helpful was an integral part of who he was both as a professional and as a friend. Those who worked for and with him were considered family.
David was lucky to have spent the second half of his life with his best friend Sangita. The two loved to travel, frequent their favorite restaurants, and spend time with their cats Lark and Molly. Sangita was the light of his life and the reason you could find him smiling. As for his cats, they came second only to Sangita. It was impossible to have a conversation with David and not hear about the antics of his two fuzzy kids.
There will never be another person like David Langsett. If you met him, you walked away with a story. He was loud, opinionated, lively, and knew how to work a room. He was your friend whether you liked it or not and he would, and often did, give the coat off his back to whoever was in need. His generosity poured into every aspect of his life. He was truly a force and will be enormously missed by many.
In addition to Sangita, David leaves behind Elyse (Thomas) Leavy of New Jersey, David (Jacquelyn) Langsett of Vermont, and treasured grandson Hunter Leavy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the following organizations; Folds of Honor, Eleventh Hour Rescue where his precious Lark and Molly were from, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or Fisher House Foundation. A celebration of life will be held in the new year.
