David Andrew Gomola was born April 30, 1990 in Hamilton, Ohio to The Reverend Thomas Gomola and The Reverend Jean Smith. He died May 28, 2021.
David grew up fishing, playing baseball, soccer, and high school tennis, and was involved in high school theater. He also loved hunting and his yearly trip to hunting camp at Kelletville, Pennsylvania. He loved all Pittsburgh sports teams and Penn State football.
David graduated from Grove City High School in Grove City, Pennsylvania in 2008. He went on to graduate from Penn College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania with a bachelors degree in Computer Security.
He worked with computers at General Electric in Grove City and Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania. In 2018 he got his dream job with Calvary Chapel Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee doing information technology and worship production. David was greatly blessed by the Renew Ministries program through Calvary Chapel.
David knew Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and was always active in a church.
David was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents. He is survived by his parents Tom (Teresa) of Deer Lodge, Montana and Jean (Paul) of Mars, Pennsylvania; his sisters Katie (Brad) Arnold of Bristol, Tennessee and Alison (Danny) McBride of Ringgold, Georgia; his brother Jay (Krista) Gomola of Mooresville, North Carolina; and uncle Bob (Carol) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. David was the wonderful “Uncle D” to nieces Renny, Teagan, and Bexley, and nephews AJ and Brady.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 2nd at Calvary Chapel, Chattanooga at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Renew Ministries.
