As we plan virtual and in person gatherings, we will share details here. Thank you for contributing to this lasting memorial. In 1967, Dave met the love of his life and they had 53 wonderful years together. For Dave and Diane, 53 years wasn't enough. They wanted another 100 years. Even at the end of his life, he was more concerned for her welfare than his own. Family was the most important thing in his life. He was a devoted father who would move mountains for his girls. Even though he worked three jobs to support his family, he was always around when we needed him and especially when we didn't think we did. He served as a Buffalo Firefighter from 1973 – 2001. He served as union President from 1986-1997. Deeply affected by the deaths of five firefighters from his firehouse in the 1983 Propane explosion, he was a tireless advocate for his members. He made sure that firefighters could work more safely and provide better fire protection to the Citizens of Buffalo. He was honored by the Forest District Civic Association as their “Man of the Year” for his positive impact on the City of Buffalo.
