Damao Chu passed away on June 8, 2022 in his home in South Africa. In his last moments he was surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Janine Chu, and his four children, Kaydene Chu, Tyla Chu, Leah Chu, and Luke Chu. 

     Damao was born on August 16 1965, in Taichung, Taiwan, which is where he grew up. He graduated with a law degree from Chinese Culture University. then went on to work internationally in Thailand, Taiwan, China, and South Africa. While working in South Africa he met his wife Janine and they were married in Taiwan on February 20, 1992. He went on to establish his first business, BMMW, in 2008. He continued to work in business for another 16 years until his passing. 

     Damao was a man of incredible depth and knowledge. He often would learn new languages for the fun of it. His love of language also translated into literature and poetry. Damao was an avid traveler. Whether he was traveling on business or with his family, he always enjoyed seeing new places and experiencing new cultures. However, his true passion in life was his family, for which he spent his life caring for and supporting. He will be treasured in the hearts of his family and forever missed by all who knew him. 

     Damao was a beloved father, great friend, honest colleague, and a good man. His memorial will take place on June 18, 2022 at his home in South Africa.
