Cherry Summers was born to parents, Harry & Helen Scott on November 7th, 1948 in Ft. Worth, Texas.
She graduated from Paschal High School, Ft. Worth, Texas in 1966 and went on to study at the University of Texas.
In 1971, Cherry brought her first daughter, Chessa into this world in Honolulu, HI. The following year in 1972, she brought her second daughter, Melanie into this world in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Cherry met Bob Summers in 1974 and they were married on August 17th, 1974 in Seattle, WA.
In her professional life, she worked as a buyer for a large department store chain before earning her professional real estate credentials in Washington State in the late 80's. Cherry maintained her license to sell real estate for 30 plus years. She pioneered in website design for real estate professionals and general contractor's in the early 90's.
Cherry retired about 6 years ago due to ongoing medical issues and chronic pain which left her with limited mobility for much of her latter years. Despite a sustained decline in her health, she had an abundance of determination to gain back her mobility and live a life free from pain.
She always maintained an inspiring and positive outlook on life despite the many challenges and setbacks that she suffered. She had an opened mind spiritually and believed that our souls remained beyond this life on this planet and even if they didn't, her soul would certainly be the first to do so. Cherry was never known to back down on her values or the beliefs she held throughout her life.
Cherry found pure joy in all aspects of gourmet cooking, including shopping for and using the latest cooking gadgets, infused oils and spices, and watching gourmet cooking channels and shows. In the year 2000, she hosted a small family reunion at Christmas time and gifted us all with a copy of her cookbook packed full of her favorite recipes, some her own, and some she borrowed. She loved skin care, jewelry and fancy sweaters. She loved bright colors and patterns and styled her life accordingly with bright greens, blues, pinks, reds, oranges, and purples. The more color and bling surrounding her the better.
She absolutely adored her Springer Spaniel's, Murphy, Harrison, Sugar and leaves behind Henry, with her husband, Bob. She treated each one of them like they were her royal children, even making them gourmet meals.
Sadly, Cherry, at the age of 71, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in her home on March 31st, 2020.
