Charlotte was the beloved matriarch of our family, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was proud of our family members' accomplishments, but was most proud that we upheld the values she passed to us: acts of love, love of family, lifelong learning, and tikkun olam (repairing the world).
   
She generously gave of herself as the Executive Director of the Syracuse Chapter of the American Diabetes Association, tutored international students in English, sat on the board of the Syracuse University Byrd Library, and served on the Advisory Committee for the Institute for the Family at URMC. She was awarded the 1979 Woman of the Year in Health in Onondaga County. 

Her wisdom, warmth, and loving nature was without equal and appreciated by all who knew her, throughout her life. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Institute for the Family-Dr. Susan Horwitz Community Scholarship Fund.
