With great sadness the family of Carla Teitzel announces her death at 68 on August 29, 2020 in Portland, OR due to heart failure. Carla was born on April, 1952 in Bremerton, WA.
She proudly graduated summa cum laude from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Pharmacy. At WSU, she met her husband, Robin Teitzel. Carla worked as pharmacist since graduation including: Cent-Wise Drugs in Cedar Hills and the Medical Office Building at St. Vincent Medical Center until her retirement in 2014.
She is survived by her husband Robin, her daughter Gail and husband Patrick, and her son Eric and wife Jennifer. She is also survived by her grandson Henry.
Carla was an avid reader, loving a good mystery novel but also undertaking reading challenges like Around the World in 80 Books to read books set in different countries including places she was about to visit. Carla and Robin went on several walking adventures in Europe and Egypt, but also walked marathons and half-marathons. Carla volunteered at the Cedar Mill Library and was active in Girl Scouts as a troop leader and trainer. Every year Carla planted a vegetable garden, tweaking what plants to include and her family is still enjoying the harvest. Carla also enjoyed knitting, doing Sudoku, playing the piano, wine tasting, and eating some dark chocolate at the end of the day was essential.
