Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC is at work in over 40 countries and more than 20 U.S. cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future and strengthen their communities.
Over the past 90 years, the IRC has built a strong position as the largest refugee resettlement agency in the United States, and has paid close attention and provided service to the recent conflicts in Afghanistan (providing education and protection to 1 million Afghan citizens including women and girls) and Ukraine (collaborating with nonprofit organizations in both Ukraine and refugee-receiving Poland to provide aid). less

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) helps people affected by humanitarian crises—including the climate crisis—to survive, recover and rebuild their lives. "We deliver lasting impact by providing health care, helping children learn, and empowering individuals and communities to become self-reliant, always seeking to address the inequalities facing women and girls."

She was such a fun mother-figure to be around-- especially because my Mom lived many hours away and they reminded me so much of each other. I had my son a year before KC had Sonny, so your Mom was always asking me suggestions for toys, books, and clothes for sweet Sonny. We had great lunches and visits. She talked about you three and your families all the time. Goodness, she loved you so much. I adored seeing her always. She was one of the most loyal friends, full of light and love. I'm so very sorry for your great loss.
