With a broken heart and in disbelief we are saying goodbye to Brian K Barker (61). He left us on Thursday 4/23 at 1:29 AM after losing a long but brave battle with Covid-19. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle but most importantly a great friend and a hero. Brian was the kindest soul, an honest and proud man, he cared deeply and loved unconditionally. Brian was selfless and his kindness was unmatched. Brian loved taking long walks on the beach on a cool day searching for crabs, he loved watching every sunrise and sunset. Brian made delicious cookies, cheesecake, and bread. He spent Sunday mornings making waffles and coffee for his family. He loved pizza Fridays. He also loved dark green and watching the Eagles. He took his family on countless road trip and created amazing memories along the way. Brian loved cruising around in his truck. Florida and the OBX were his happy place, watching dolphins, taking boat rides. He always dreamed of wining the lottery but it was his family that won one, by having Brian in their lives.
We will forever hold Brian in our hearts and he will be with us each day. Although it will be difficult to carry on, we must find the strength as Brian would want all of us to be, above all, happy and kind to one another. He dreamed of riding motorcycles with his wife, but now he’s driving on his own to the sunset. Goodbye for now, we LOVE YOU. We will be together again.
