Waterville – Brenda L. Crain, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, August 1, 2022 at Maine General Medical Center.

Born on July 3, 1961, Brenda was the daughter of the late Leo F. Griffin, Jr. and Alice (Fink) Griffin. She was born and raised in Ilion, NY.  She spent some time in California but majority of her adult life was spent in Maine.

She worked primarily in customer service as a bagger at the Commissary on Loring AFB and her last job was as a cashier at the IGA in Limestone. She always had a smile and was well loved by those that knew her. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone she could whether she knew them well or not.   She was a great listener and had a wonderful sense of humor.  Her greatest joy was being a mom and she was amazing at it. She also loved to spend time with her grand fur babies.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Nicole Spencer and her boyfriend, Micki Dow of Waterville; her best friend Dottie of Waterville; her ex-husband and friend; Christopher Crain of New York; and her 3 grand fur babies, Abby, Bentley, and Cody. She also leaves numerous nieces and friends.

Aside from her parents, Brenda was predeceased by her sisters, Linda Doolen and Denise Medina; her brother, Leo F. Griffin; and niece, Jessica Medina.

In keeping with Brenda’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Her earthly remains will remain with her daughter.

Brenda enjoyed volunteering with the Special Olympics when she could.  In lieu of flowers please donate to the Special Olympics in her honor.
