Monika Arnett, 64, of Everett, passed away peacefully at the Swedish Hospital in Edmonds, Washington on Thursday, March 26, 2020. A celebration of Life will be held from 4pm-5pm PT on Monday, June 14th, 2020 with GatheringUs.com. Monika left before her time, but made a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Monika was a loving caring partner, mother, Oma, sister, daughter, aunt, friend and neighbor. She was known for her hardworking passion, writings, poems, art, dancing, crocheting, cooking, green thumb, parenting and her brillance. Monika was up at dawn and worked late into the night at times to finish projects, help a neighbor, friend or family member. It was her nature to be caring and compassionate. She began each day asking "Who and how can I help someon who is in need today?"
Monika was born June 24, 1955 in Kaiserslautern, Germany to the late Thomas Cochran and Irma Harvey, WA. She was the eldest of seven siblings: Issacc Tierce Arnett, WA (IKE) Ann Arnett, WA(Anette), Albert James Arnett, WA(Jim), Sonja Mae Arnett, OR(Sis), Greg Cochran, TN, Marviene Cochran, TN.She graduated from Internationl Correspondence school in 1977 and graduated from the Hollywood Scriptwriting Institute in 1994.
Monika was first introduced to Karen as the "screenwriter/dancer" at a friend's house for dinner. Before unitng with the love of her life, she raised 3 accomplished children as a single mother. On July 13th, 1999, Monika married Karen James (KJ). Together they showed their blended family the true meaning of love. The ha a bond that formed around four letters: MLAF--"My Love Always and Forever." It was clear they were meant to be together.
Monika and Karen joined many churches during their 32 years together. She raised her children and grandchildren in these churches and remained an integra part of the church. Monika, as a Christian, led many prayers.
Monika earned her screenwriting status as a renown writer nationally and it remained a passion of hers throughout most of her adult life. She a meticulous eye for her craftmanship and details. She was a member of the Writer's Guild and Administrator of various media groups.
Together, Monika and her therapy dog visited nursing homes in the area, bringing joy to the shut-ins, while delivering her crocheted gifts to the residents. Throughout life, Monika was active in participating in multi-day tasks across the states and was a member of Humanitarianism.
Monika is survived by the Love of Her Life, Karen, her son Gregory Brisson Chun Jr, daughters Satin-Deseree Michelle Arnett and Erica Sue Solomon, grandchildren Jamie Sliker, Dacia-Lee Michelle Arnett, Christopher Silker, Katie Sliker, Keilani Garrido, James Silker, Gabriel Elijah Sliker, Justus Robert Sliker, Alice Hisako Ringor, Aven Chun and many nieces and nephews.
Monika was so loving and very accepting. I admire her gentle spirit , she loved to dance. She was a lady with wisdom, which she at time share her wisdom with me.
