I had the good fortune of being with Pat on the night she met Tom. We were at a party in Chelsea, and what I witnessed was the igniting of an incredible spark that never abated over the many years they shared together. The first chapter of Tom and Pat was marked by his entry into our mutual group of friends. He effortlessly passed initiation into our “summerhouse in the Hamptons.” Tom represented a sea of calm amidst a boisterous group who went to great lengths to have fun. He was an immediate hit and dearly loved by all. Eventually, we all began to migrate to different locations as we began raising families so our paths did not cross as frequently. Now as I reflect upon his passing, I dearly wish that I could have spent more time with Tom and Pat.

There’s a common thread throughout the numerous posts on this page – Tom was a very special, one-of-a-kind person who touched those around him with unparalleled grace and charm. He inspires us to deliberate upon our own lives to emulate the joy he brought to so many.

Words can’t describe how sad I am for Pat, Brian, Gavin, their extended families and friends. It’s truly a tragic loss.
