Ellen Williamson was such an inspiration to so many. Her smile, zest for life, positivity and fearlessness gave us all hope. She was an amazing force of energy! While living in Raleigh, we grew our friendship and bonded a lot over music. She loved her Pearl Jam/Foo Fighters and I was a Widespread fan but we found common ground in between and enjoyed seeing so much music together. Brandi Carlile was a favorite which we got to see several times, Emmylou, Allison Krauss, Lucinda, Patty Griffin, John Hiatt (I remember sitting out in the rain and her being like, why are we here but she stayed) Keller, JJ Grey, Robert Randolph, Black Crows, Old Crow, Tedeschi Trucks, MMJ, Mumford, lots of bluegrass and spent several years at FloydFest together and the list goes on. We loved our music! Our time spent in nature on our many walks with our beloved pups, Bella & Gus will always be remembered and put a smile on my face. She made me look at things from a different perspective, she showed me how important it is to LIVE, be present, to find the JOY in the small things and reminded us all that things will be OK. I I feel so blessed to have had a friendship with such an amazing person who I have learned so much from and will live in my heart forever. Peace be with you my friend and love to your family.
