Growing up, I loved our summer trips to Seattle to visit Uncle Scott and the rest of the Manning gang. The highlight for me each summer was going to Uncle Scott's "cabin" (shack on stilts?!). I loved walking through the neighbor's land to get to the cabin, checking out the bunk beds and having soda drinks in tin cans, and taking out the little motorboat to look for wildlife and walk on the sandbars. Uncle Scott made it an adventure every time, and each time we learned something new about fishing, wildlife, seals, the tides - instilling in us his endless curiosity, passion about the environment, and love for life. Andrew and Emilia were so excited to visit the legendary cabin - a day with Uncle Scott at the cabin and out on the water was the highlight of their summer trip to Seattle.
