Growing up, she always made me feel welcome in her home, no matter how long I stayed. Aunt Helen stepped in as the matriarch of our family, hosting holidays and being the source of strength and love for all of us. Even when I moved across the country, she always stayed in touch with beautiful letters and hand written cards, phone calls and later emails. She took a keen interest in my children's lives, always wanting the latest news and my children felt cherished by her as well. She traveled to Boston to take part in our simchas, and we visited with her whenever we were in LA. I especially loved the bond she had with her sisters and the way the 4 of them stayed close. I am grateful for the compassion and care she has shown my mother...worrying about her until the very end. I will miss her kind words, her wise counsel, her loving spirit and her zest for living life to the fullest. I have learned so much from Aunt Helen and hope to embody so much of... less
