Paul is what I would refer to as part of the Wolfson crew – IT people that I’ve grown up with since I started in IT back in 2004. Even though he was squirreled away with the clever folks in the Tech Dev office he was always one for the social events.
I've sat in countless meetings with Paul over the years and often wondered how one person could contain all that information, to hear him speak about his work was fascinating - he also had such respect for his team and it really showed.
Paul always had time for you, even though no doubt inundated with the most complex of tasks he would never turn you away, was always polite, approachable and kind and talked with a smile. I’ve got lots of photos from our nights out/Christmas parties and Paul is there smiling away. Even when no doubt some crazy fight would break out halfway through the evening Paul was never any part of it – he’d be clutching his pint and laughing. Of course it was all forgotten about minutes later and we’d all be off on our merry way to the casino!
I’ve attached an award I gave Paul during one of our Christmas work parties, I did awards for everyone there and I think the one for Paul pretty much sums him up.
You will be missed Paul, you were an integral part of UHB IT history for sure.
