After Nancy's first diagnosis and treatment over ten years ago, her oncologist moved to Kansas City to practice. We both really liked her oncologist so drove to Kansas every quarter initially and then six months, then annual until he retired. We would always take a couple extra days and explore Kansas City which we really grew to love. We visited the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art on several occasions and here went to a special exhibit of the art of Rome and the Renaissance. A photo op presented itself in the exhibit of the "mad queen".
Nancy was someone I just always wanted to be around just playing and having fun. We learned to live in the moment during those times when everything was in that moment, in that minute was OK, we were safe and didn't think of the actual terror of the past or our fears of the future. We were really lucky so many, many times. I can't really remember much of life outside of these moments together. I remember this day and her and thinking just how lucky I was to still have her with me.
