Some twenty-one years ago, our 11-year-old son, Quentin, hinted that he had a crush on not one, but two, girls in his fifth-grade class. We did a bit of research and eventually found out that both girls were taking art lessons from Molly Davis. Despite having virtually no artistic talent, Molly welcomed Quentin into the class and over the course of seven years, educated him in the areas of color, abstract composition, and the ‘art’ of talking to girls.

Our daughter, Alex, followed in her brother’s footsteps. And thanks to Molly’s willingness to mentor young women, freely sharing her skills and life experiences, Alex has grown into a confident, thoughtful adult.

We will never forget Sunday afternoon art class at our home in Boulder - the kids sitting around the kitchen table, absorbed in their work, only taking breaks for chocolate chip cookies and an occasional story. Molly’s spirit, her positive influence, and her artwork will remain with us forever.
