Kat Proffitt's Album: Wall Photos

Photo 2 of 6 in Wall Photos

Britta was a great friend. We made many memories together. Lake days, watching Steelers games, trying her cookies because she was going to bake the top choco chip recipes and we got to help her decided which is the best, bringing over all the cakes, her teaching us astrology, her winning the card games, her learning to wakeboard in 6 tries, helping me with the boutique, watching Bolt for us, cheering her on as she started her LLC, changed careers, received a promotion, local news interviews featuring her, a Kelly Clarkson interview with her, road trips, her coming over to use our washer dryer because hers broke...so many memories. I don't want them to fade.
She was so intentional with her energy, time, actions, and words. Britta was the one that introduced me to Rupi Kaur. This was the last poem she liked on her page, and to me it means something. She liked it for a reason.

our souls
will not be soothed
by what we achieve
how we look
or all the hard work we do
even if we managed to
make all the money in the world
we'd be left feeling empty for something
our souls ache for community
our deepest being craves one another
we need to be connected
to feel alive
-rupi kaur

I am sorry for the world's loss - she was someone working every day to make the world a better place. Rest in power Britta. I will do my best to honor you.
