Khanom va Aghage Mohtasham: Thank you for allowing and sharing Mana’s life with us while she performed her positions at the Language Acquisition Center (LARC) at San Diego State University. Our Center is a unique center not because of our services, but because of the staff. Once joining LARC, we all realized that we were and became a family member of this special group, and yes, as family members we acted sometimes as such. We all share our expertise, skills, cultural, language, food and sometimes our personalities with each other; feeling sometimes vulnerable we shared our desires, happiness, doubts, sadness, life experiences and much more. In Mana’s case, she shared her love for life, sharing her travel experiences, sports adventures, while motivating us to be active, and mostly her love for life--at her young age she has lived her life to the fullest. Though, I would dare to say that leaving family back home, should have been difficult for Mana though she did not express it, but I believe she missed her family tremendously. I thank God for Mana life’s and give you my deepest condolences. She will be missed by all. On a personal note, I will always cherish and care for the pashminas that she gave to me when leaving LARC. Sincerely, Raquel Cardoso.
