I am beyond heartbroken and in shock to learn about my friend Steve’s passing. @pilateswithwood
I post this not to get sympathy, but rather to share how amazing he was. Yes, I am so very upset, but I am also honored to have had him in my life.
♥️
Steve was one of my absolute favorite teachers. This photo is a quick shot I snuck in during one of our zoom classes. I was thrilled to continue to learn from him while on the opposite coast. What a blessing. I ALWAYS learned something new from him. I will continue to teach as he taught...with intention and purpose. Movement in a way that is sustainable and healthy, focusing deeper than just the ‘superficial’ muscles.
♥️
We shared many laughs and texted memes back and forth frequently... especially funny dog videos or really anything to do with animals....or the arts or straight up sarcasm ha.
♥️
When I was sick with Covid, he was encouraging and genuinely cared. I hate that I was so caught up with life (new puppy, work, dealing with post Covid fatigue) lately that I didn’t know he was ill. I figured he was busy, but apparently he was sick. I know, I had no way to know, but it devastates me.
♥️
He loved personal growth as much as I do and knew that mental health is just as important as physical health.
‘There you grow again’ he would say.
♥️
I will continue to grow, Steve, and you will always be with me as I make healthy choices. I wish I could tell you this directly.
Steve was such a light. He also had a hilarious and unapologetic way of calling out people’s bull**** haha. I can hear him now ‘F***that, that’s bull****’, and he’d be right.
♥️
Sending so much love to his other friends and family. I can’t believe this is real. Thank you @itschrisstanley for sharing this difficult news with me.
♥️
PS -My puppy, Mannix(he gave her name the final stamp of approval), is acting wild this morning and I think it’s Steve’s doing so I can’t sit around and be sad.
