As I think back on some of my favorite memories of my Mamie, I realize there will need to be many, many posts to capture the countless joyful memories she gave me. 

The first ones that come to mind are the random days at Francois where Mamie would get her dozen plus grand kids together to paint. 

Mamie was an artist through and through. She LOVED art.

I loved the days we'd paint together, her showing each us how to use a paint brush. Whether it be on canvas, t-shirts, paper plates, whatever medium she decided, Mamie was always teaching us. I realize now that those days were not only about teaching us art and keeping us happy & entertained, it was also a way that Mamie could show us love by sharing with us something she loved.

Each painting, no matter how awful, was a masterpiece to Mamie because it was tangible example of her love for us and our love for being with her.
