Kolawole Adewoyin's Album: Wall Photos

Grandma wasn’t regular. She wasn’t your everyday kind of grandmother. My earliest memory of her was back in 2003 where I was getting flogged and I expected her to rescue me. Well, she didn’t because she believed in you getting punished for your mess ups. Regular grandparents will “spare the rod” but not her. Singing birthday songs was her specialty. She loved it. As long as you’re available on your birthday, she would call to sing and pray for you. When it came to the things of God she was really steadfast. Grandma could ask you for your memory verse on a Monday. Studying with her was like being in church for the actual Sunday school. Spending time with her in Ikorodu was really something to look forward to growing up. I recall getting my head stuck in the backrest of the church bench at Ijede, was a scary funny experience then, but grandma who was beside me came to my rescue.
Her smile was beautiful. She was so fastidious. She liked things done accordingly, precisely and on time.
I’ve heard many tales about her from people and there’s a very consistent point, “Mama Fad is a mother, a caring mother”.
Rest Well Grandma Fadiora. Till we meet at Jesus feet.
