I have known Marva for a long time, but the past three years brought us closer than a neighbour; we were like sisters. She was a very friendly, caring, loving and alert neighbour who was always looking out for me. Whenever she heard gun shots at night, regardless of time, my phone immediately would ring and she would ask “Nellie you okay? Mi just hear gun shots so I’m checking up on you to see if you are okay.“ We didn’t do regular house to house visits but we were always on WhatsApp sharing jokes, checking up and encouraging each other. I will remember Marva for her caring thoughts, sweet smiles and her cherry red lips.
