Ed was born in Chicago IL July 23rd 1938 to Mary Katherine Roth (Keneally) and Edward Matthew Roth Sr. Ed was in poor health as a child. He contracted rheumatic fever at young age and was chronically ill early in his life. Because of this, he could not attend school for some years and learned to read at home keeping his mind occupied with the encyclopedia while convalescing. He recalled being told he wouldn’t live, but he had a strong will and proved them wrong. After graduating high school, he went on to try multiple business ventures including carpentry. He was a smart man and a woodworker who created beautiful and imaginative things with his hands. He loved Sci-Fi, photography, politics and of course his wife and kids. Heather had a beautiful smile, a passion for the outdoors and was most comfortable hunting, fishing, gardening l, and spending time with her animals. She loved to cook and to share her meals with her family and everyone around her. She recently developed a love for crafting, especially making decorative wreaths.

We love you Heather and you will be forever missed.

She was the mother of 3 children, a son Jason Bickel age 37, and two daughters , Kesha Shanda (Bakken) age 33 and Rebecca Bejarano age 24, she was the grandmother to 4 grandsons, and 3 granddaughters,,one daughter in law and 2 son-in-laws. She was married to Phillip Bakken of Redding CA, She was a lover of dogs, an amazing cook and she loved her kids and family, she loved rocking out to music with her daughter's and spending time as a family, a quote that is by far my most favorite from her was" if you got something to say ,then say it, if they don't like hearing what you say, bring a bat, with a bat you can you can swing at what life throws at you." She will be missed dearly. And will always be remembered.  less
