Sharon Kay Mitchell, 80, of Wichita, Kansas left this world, but not our hearts, February 23, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Maxine Winters and her husband of 44 years, Senior Chief Petty Officer Phil Mitchell. She is survived by her son, Brad Mitchell (Linda), granddaughters Ally and Tori Mitchell, her daughter Kristi Mitchell, brother Bill Winters, Jr. (Shirley), and countless others who were touched by... see moreSharon Kay Mitchell, 80, of Wichita, Kansas left this world, but not our hearts, February 23, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Maxine Winters and her husband of 44 years, Senior Chief Petty Officer Phil Mitchell. She is survived by her son, Brad Mitchell (Linda), granddaughters Ally and Tori Mitchell, her daughter Kristi Mitchell, brother Bill Winters, Jr. (Shirley), and countless others who were touched by Kay’s joy for life and service for others. She was a dedicated military spouse and faithful church servant as well as a highly effective, results-oriented administration specialist who retired from Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas.
Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate her life at Convenant Presbyterian Church on Sunday, March 8 from 3-6 pm, 1750 N. Tyler Road, Wichita, Kansas 67212. Interment will be at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery.
