Peter was born in Carmarthen, Wales, and attended the local "Queen Elizabeth High School" (QEHS). He trained in Northumberland as a teacher of chemistry and science, and taught in schools in Sydney and elsewhere in New South Wales. He leaves behind Gwen, his wife, and their two sons, Harry and Pete.
