This is a heartfelt tribute to our beloved matriarch, Norma Calip Beliso, who peacefully passed away on September 29, 2024. Both near and far, her family and friends united to honor and comfort her with love and prayers. Although we miss her deeply, we know she is reunited with her devoted husband of 67 years, Alberto Medina Beliso, who passed away just months before her. Together, they leave a legacy that will be cherished for generations to come. Norma and Alberto were a true love story of soul mates who are now together, eternally.
Norma Calip Beliso was born on January 8, 1935, in Manila, Philippines. From the very beginning, she was blessed to grow up surrounded by love, laughter, and music. In her childhood, she experienced the warmth and joy of being part of a family that would shape her into the gracious and charming woman she became. Norma often shared how her father was pivotal in guiding their lives. A professor and educator, he instilled in her the values of discipline, responsibility, and respect. Her mother, held an equally important role, providing the nurturing and care to create a home filled with comfort and unconditional love. Together, they formed the foundation of Norma's character. She studied music and sociology and built a life grounded in love and a deep understanding of family values.
Norma’s childhood was filled with music and traditions that became a lasting influence in her life. She cherished the sounds of music at family gatherings that brought light into her home and created lasting memories. Later in life, she and Alberto were blessed to share their love for music together as she often sang their favorite songs with Alberto by her side, playing the timbales. Truly some of their sweetest moments they lovingly spoke fondly of.
Norma was the cornerstone of our family—nurturing, guiding, and loving. She was her happiest at family gatherings as she loved seeing everyone together, and especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren laugh and play. She would often cook their favorite dish, which was her famous pot roast, knowing how much her family loved it. Even in her last days, she prepared one of her specialties as a symbol of love and quiet act of devotion—truly a gift.
To her grandchildren, she radiated love and warmth, capturing their hearts with adoration. They were always excited to see her and find out which stylish hat she chose to match her fashionable outfits. These were some of the special moments they shared together.
Norma was deeply rooted in her core beliefs, and always sought to make the right choice—this was the guiding force behind her every action. Her strength was not just in what she did, but in the values she lived by, and her greatest hope was to instill these values in her children and grandchildren. She was smart and savvy businesswoman, and the heart and soul of everything she and Alberto created together.
Norma and Alberto were inseparable. Their bond was built on pure, unconditional love, shared dreams, and an enduring commitment to one another. For over six decades, they were partners in every sense of the word—facing life as one. Their success was always about ensuring that their loved ones were supported and able to thrive. Even in her final months with her own health ailments, Norma remained focused in pursuit of accomplishing their shared dreams, knowing it would be her last mission before reuniting with her true love.
Rest in God's care, our dear, sweet Mom. You will always live on in our hearts and your legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. We know you are now singing and dancing with your brightest stars, Dad and Norbert. Thank you for your unending love and devotion. "We shall always be forever true and loving you eternally."
